A current of 9.65A is drawn from a Daniell cell for exactly one hour. If molar masses of Cu and Zn are 63.5 g/mol and 65.4 g/mol respectively, what would be the loss in mass at anode and gain in mass at cathode respectively?

Quantity of electricity passed = 9.65 x 60 x 60 C
Amount of electron withdrawn = 9.65 x 60 x 60 / 96500 mol
Amount of Zn oxidised or Cu2+ reduced = 60 x 60 / (2 x 10000)
Mass od Zn lost = 65.4 x 60 x 60 / (2 x 10000) = 11.77 g
Mass of Cu gain = 63.5 x 60 x 60 / (2 x 96500) = 11.43 g
