A current carrying circular loop lies on a smooth horizontal plane. Can a uniform magnetic field be set up in such a manner that the loop turns about the vertical axis?

No, such a magnetic field can not be set up. Since, the loop needs to be turned about the vertical axis, it means the force should be along the tangent to the loop at any point. since the direction of the current is always along the circle, the direction of force can not be along the tangent instead it will always be perpendicular to the current since the force is given by a cross product.

As we know, work done by Magnetic force is always zero in moving a charged particle./So it cannot change speed of charged particle. MY doubt is that, can magnetic force change direction of motion of charged particle?
