A cubical water tank is filled by tap water at rate of 1.4 litres per sec. find the length of an edge of the tank in cms if the tank is completely filled in 28 mins.

Given that the tap can fill the tank at the rate of 1.4 litres per second
 
 In 28 minutes the tap can fill the tank completely
 
Thus, Total volume of the tank = 1.4 cross times 60 cross times 28 equals 2352 space l i t r e s
 
One litre = 1000 cubic metre
 
Thus one cubic metre = 1 over 1000 l i t r e s
Thus, total volume = 2352 over 1000 space c u b i c space m e t r e equals 2.352 space c u b i c space m e t r e
a cubed equals 2.352 rightwards double arrow a equals open parentheses 2.352 close parentheses to the power of 1 third end exponent rightwards double arrow a equals 1.33 space m e t r e rightwards double arrow a equals 1.33 space cross times 100 space c e n t i space m e t r e rightwards double arrow a equals 133 space c e n t i space m e t r e
