A convex lens has magnification 3 . Image formed by lens is 24  cm away from lens. Find where should Be object placed

m=3
As magnification of image is 3 it means image formed is virtual and erect and for convex lens such image is formed when the object is placed to the left of the lens between optical centre and focus. 
image distance, v = 24 cm 
Magnification, m = v/u 
Thus, 3 = 24/u 
u = 24/3 = 8 cm
