CBSE Class 10 Answered

A class starts at 10a.m. and lasts till 1.27p.m. Four periods are held during this interval. After every period, 5mins are given free to the students. What is the eact duration of each period?

Total time lapsed between 10 am and 1.27 pm = 3 hours and 27 min = 180 + 27 min = 207 min
 
Let the duration of each period be x min
 
5 min are given free to each student. So, there have been 4 periods held, hence there would be 3 free breaks given
 
4x + 5*3 = 207
4x = 207-15
4x = 192
x = 48 min. 
Hence each period if of 48 min.

Ratio of A's entertainment time to B's entertainment time is 1: 2. Average of study time of A, B and C is 6 hours. Average of rest time of A and B is 9 hours.
