Retardation = Breaking force/Mass of bus =a
If initial velocity of bus is u and final velocity is v=0,
u2-v2=2ad
u2-0=2ad
d=u2/2a
IF the passengers of the bus add to frictional force, it does not affect the distance d, but of they add to the braking force, then the distance d changes.
