a bullet fired into a fixed target loses half of its velocity after penetrating 3cm. how much further it penetrate before coming to rest. assume that deceleration is at constant rate.

If we take the rate of decrease of velocity to be constant and is taken as velocity decreased per unit distance travelled then the logic dictates that the billet will come to rest in anothr 3cm
just tke the deceleration to be -v/(2x3) = -v/6 m/s/cm
here v is the velocity of the bullet
