Dear student,
distance of 1st bounce = 3m
distance of 2nd bounce = 1.5m
distance of 3rd bounce = 0.75m
distance of 4th bounce = 0.37m
distance of 5st bounce = 0.18m
distance of 6th bounce = 0.09m
distance of 7th bounce = 0.04m
distance of 8th bounce = 0.02m
distance of 9th bounce = 0.01m
total distance travelled = 5.69m
check with this:
3 + 2(3)(0.5)(0.5^9 -1)/(0.5-1)= 3+5.98 approx= 6, = 9m
