A balloon is ascending at the rate of 4.9 m/s.A packet is dropped from the balloon when situated at a height of 245m.How long does it take the packet to reach the ground? What is its final velocity?

As the balloon is moving upward with a velocity of 4.9 m/s, the packet dropped from the balloon will also possess a velocity of 4.9 m/s in the upward direction i.e. velocity of the packet in the downward direction will be u = -4.9 m/s
