Please check the equations as the correct equations are as follows:
99x+101y=499 ... (i)
101x+99y=501 ... (ii)
Adding (i) and (ii), we get
200x + 200y = 1000
Divide the equation by 200 on both the sides, we get
x + y = 5 .... (iii)
Subtract equation (i) from (ii), we get
2x - 2y = 2
Divide the equation by 2 on both the sides, we get
x - y = 1 .... (iV)
Adding (iii) and (iv), we get
2x = 6
→ x = 3
Put x = 3 in (iii), we get
x + y = 5
→ 3 + y = 5
→ y = 2
Therefore solution of the given two equations is x = 3 and y = 2.
