4 any charge configuration, equipotential surface thru a point is normal to the electric field at that point. why?

An equipotential surface is the locus of all the points in the medium at which the potential due to a charge distribution is the same, so no work will be done if a charge is moved from one point to the other along the surface.
This is possible only if there is no component of an electric force along the direction of displacement i.e. ,the line of force should always be perpendicular to such a surface.
We hope that clarifies your query.
