5p + 2 = 17
Consider, x = 1
Then LHS = 5 × 1 + 2 = 7
LHS ≠ RHS
Hence, p = 1 is not a solution.
Consider,
p = 3
LHS = 5 × 3 + 2 = 17
LHS = RHS
Hence, p = 3 is a solution of the given equation.
