Expert Answer

If we name the given points as A,B,C respectively then for them to be collinear,

the direction ratios of AB, BC,AC  must be proportional.

so,

-4-(-1),2-3,-2-2

must be proportional to

5-(-4),5-2,lamda-(-2)

i.e.

(-3/9)=(-1/3)=(-4/lamda+2)

using this we get the value of lamda as

lamda=10
