Comparing the given equations with general pair of linear equations, we have:
a1 = 2, b1 = 4, c1 = -7
a2 = 8, b2 = 16, c2 = -9
It can be observed that
a1/a2 = b1/b2 is not equal to c1/c2.
Hence, the given pair of linear equations has no solution.
Also, if you will try to plot the graph of the given pair of equations, you will find that the lines would be parallel, and thus the pair of equations has no solution.
To understand this concept in a better way, we would suggest you to watch the topper video lessons available on our website.
