In animals, control and coordination occurs through the action of nervous system and endocrine system.
Animals possess well-developed nervous system which control the voluntary, involuntary and reflex action of the body. The central and peripheral nervous system carry out rapid coordination of the various body functions using electrochemical signals.
A large number of hormones are synthesised by the endocrine system to carrry out the growth and development of the organisms as well as their response to stimuli.
