Expert Answer:

Dear Student,

The two consecutive multiples will can be 3X and 3 (X + 1) so,

3X x 3 (X + 1) = 270

=> 9X2 + 9X - 270 = 0

=>X2 + X- 30 = 0

=> X2  + 6X - 5X - 30 = 0

=> X (X + 6) - 5 (X + 6) = 0

=> (X + 6)(X - 5) = 0

=> X = -6 or X = 5

Hence, -18 and -15 or 15 and 18

Thanks and Regards
