Global warming is excess accumulation of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) that causes warming of the Earth.
Two ways in which global warming can be reduced:
- Plant more trees to increase the green cover.
- Avoid burning of dry leaves, wood etc. Avoid smoking.
1d) Two effects of ozone depletion:
1. Ozone is a poisonous gas. It causes respiratory problems.
2. It damages vegetation (plants and trees).
3. It causes damage to automobile tyres and asphalt.
