Effect of Dielectric on the Capacitance of a Capacitor

We know that the effect of completely filling the space between the plates of a capacitor with a difference is to increase the capacitance to   C  =  K Co  where K is the dielectric constant of the dielectric .

For a parallel plate capacitor ,

Here   = K is the permittivity of the dielectric .

If a dielectric slab of thickness 't' and dielectric constant K is introduced between the plates of a capacitor as shown in figure , the capacity is given by
