1. The aim of the experiment is to demonstrate the role of xylem in the conduction of water and the role of phloem in the conduction of food in flowering plants.
2. Plant A obtains water and minerals in the presence of xylem. As a result, it is able to synthesise its food and stays healthy. Plant B lacks xylem and hence, does not get its supply of water and minerals. As a result, the leaves are seen drooping and will eventually result in the death of the plant.
