1. the total cost of 3 tables and 2 chairs is rupees 8745 . if a table costs rupees 40 more than a chair find the price of each.

Let the cost of each chair be x rs.
Cost of each table will be 40+x rs.
According to the question,
3(40+x) + 2x = 8745
120 + 3x + 2x = 8745
5x = 8745 - 120
5x = 8625
x = 1725
Hence, cost of each chair is Rs. 1725 and that of each table is Rs. 1765.
