1. A number of people ride the bus to the city.5 of them are children.The bus driver receives rupees 50 for all the tickets.If children pay rupees 1 per ticket and adult tickets are rupees 2.50 per ticket.how many adults are on the bus?

Let the number of adults in the bus be x.
According to the condition in the question,we get
5 × 1 + 2. 50x = 50
After solving, we get
x = 18
Therefore the number of adults in the bus be x.
