Expert Answer:

Revolutionary protests broke out in France beause of the following reasons:
  • The third estate in France was burdened with numerous taxes. While the other two estates were exempted from paying taxes, the members of the third estates paid number of direct and indirect taxes to the state. Moreover, they also had to pay religious taxes to the Church.
  • The royalty was seen as a symbol of the unjust ancient regime and were not bothered about the well being of the French people.
  • The existence of unfair voting in the National Assembly also played its part in pushing people for revolutionary protests in France.
