Keeping the spirit of patriotism in mind the students of Somerville School Noida's Junior wing had its Inter House Indian Music Competition titled "Aanam Shaheedo Ke Naam" recently, About 200 students from the four houses (St. Mark, St Peter, St. Luke and St. John) participated. Mrs D.A. Tressler (Director-Somerville Schools) and parents attended. St. Luke House bagged the first prize. The Principal Mrs M N Arulraj congratulated the students for their superlative performances. In a ceremony conducted recently at the Lotus Valley International School, the new prefect body was sworn in.

Major General Inderpal Singh,ADG, Army Head Quarters graced the occasion with his presence. The Principal, Mrs. Madhu Chandra welcomed the Chief Guest. The Principal congratulated the new Prefectural Board. The Principal administered the oath and inducted the new appointees. Major General Inderpal Singh presented the badges to the members of the Council body. The Head Boy and Head Girl addressed the audience and thanked the school Management.
The Eco Club members of G.D. Salwan Public School, Old Rajinder Nagar, organised a tree plantation drive recently at Rajputana Rifles in Dhaula Kuan. A group of around 25 Students and teachers along with the Principal were accompanied by the representatives of a Delhi based NGO to plant the saplings at the site. A variety of trees like neem, peepal and kaner were planted .

The language department boasted of a French and German extravaganza where children depicted the monuments, cuisines and holiday destinations of France and Germany. The English Department presented the life and works of the Romantic Poets. The Hindi department depicted an amalgam of music and literature. The Art and Craft Department displayed the creative work of children. Birla Vidya Niketan celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Officiating Principal Mr. Desmond D' Monte unfurled the Tricolour. The programme began with an inter-house patriotic song competition. Following this was a choreographed dance drama by more than 200 students from classes VI to IX.

Continuing the celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore's 150th birth anniversary year, Gyan bharati School's Abhimanyu and Bharat house paid a tribute to the Nobel laureate, in their house function themed "Gurudev- Jitne Puratan , Utne Nutan" recently. The house function was inaugurated by the Director of the school— Mr. R. C. Shekhar, Mr Sanjay Bhardwaj and Ms. Neelam Sharma.

The function commenced with an invocation. Choreographed by Sonali Pradhan of Std XII ,. The authenticity of the theme was maintained by all the participants including the compèrer donning traditional Bengali attire. The function concluded with inspiring words by the Director. Amity-Vasundhara, Sector-6 organised Mathamity 2011, a unique Math Symposium and Exhibition for classes VI to XII. The innovative concept was guided by the Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan.
Approximately 75 projects under three categories were showcased in the form of charts, 3D models, Power Point Presentations and discussions. Credit was given to the concepts which were application based and pertaining to daily life and out of the box ideas. The Principal, Mrs. Sunila Athley, complimented the efforts of the Math faculty and the participating students.
