How to Wash Holi Colors?

March 18, 2011

No shock, you  shriek looking yourself in to mirror right after enjoying the Holi bash! Your face is covered with colors like black, red, green, purple, yellow, pink and many more. The fun part is that it is hard to recognize your own self. However funny is that you have to come back to your original appearance, right? Take a look at the account below to learn about making scrubs at home to beat the Holi hues.

Prepare a mixture of 1 tsp besan, 1 tsp of mustard oil and 1 tsp rose water in a bowl. Add pinch of turmeric powder and apply over the area. Leave it for sometime and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Believe me, this is an effective way to get clearer skin after holi.

Take 1 tsp masoor dal, 1 tsp gram flour, 1 tsp rose water, and pinch of turmeric, 2 tsp curd and few drops of fresh lime into a bowl. Mix all the ingredients well to give them a paste-like consistency. Scrub your skin with this paste. Make sure that you do it with your fingers moving gently and softly, without making cuts and abrasion on your skin. Wash it off with lukewarm water.

To get rid of itchiness and irritation caused due to holi colors, you can prepare a paste by using 1 tbsp milk cream, freshly ground bottle gourd peels and 1 tbsp cucumber juice. Applying this paste over the affected area. It will soothe your skin. To get even better result, wash it off with coconut water.
