Going to a school can be a far-fetched dream if you have no home. Here is a family of 6 who lives on a platform in Mahim Station, Mumbai.

Lakshmi (10 years), has not gone to school and her family wants to marry her off after 2 years in their village which is in Nashik. Lakshmi along with her two brothers sell flowers on the platform.

Holding a pen can be an uphill task

When Lakshmi was handed a notebook and a pen, she didn't know how to hold a pen. Writing a letter was a distant reality for her as she couldn't even draw a line. Her mother said this was the first time Lakshmi had held a pen in her life.

"There is no use going to school"

Lakshmi's brother, Karthik (5 years), was told that education doesn't help one to survive in the world. If it had been that way, then his family and ancestors would never have survived.
