Why aluminium is used in the manufacture of aircraft parts...??
We use aluminum in aircraft parts because it is light in weight and low in density. The aluminum is alloyed with other kinds of metals to make it much tougher and stronger. It has a really high resistance to corrosion and so lasts much longer. This is because when it is exposed to air, it forms a protective layer called 'aluminium oxide' which helps prevent the corrosion and makes it long lasting. It is also extremely light weight and so won't weigh down the plane. It's also soft and malleable, making it easier to mould to the shape required.
