what is the area of the circle?what is the use of pie in it?

The number pi is defined as the ratio of circumfrence of a circle to its diameter. So when ever there is talk of circle the number pi will come, it is an irrational number as it is non terminating and non repeating and its value is appoximated as 22/7 for the use of calculation. THe area of circle is defined as pi(r)2.
