The sum of three numbers is 27 and their product is 405.Find the numbers. The numbers are in AP.

Let the 3 numbers in AP be a-d,a,a+d.

given that : a-d+a+a+d=27

or, 3a=27

or, a=9

Also

a(a-d)(a+d)=405

or, 9(9-d)(9+d)=405

or, 9(81-d2)=405

or, d2=36

or, d=+-(6)

Now when d=+6, the numbers are 3,9,15

And when d=-6 the numbers are 15,9,3
