Is it true that mercury is a poor conductor of heat? But mercury is used in thermometers to measure body temperature.Please clarify.

Because mercury has low thermal capacity, high heat conductivity, inertness in relation to a glass capillary tube and a high boiling point, it is an ideal thermometric liquid except for its relatively high melting point.
