We know that

Angular momentum is given by,

L = mv *r

= (mr2)(v/r)

= I?

Where, I = moment of inertia = mr2

? = v/r = angular velocity.

Moment of inertia of a body about a given axis is the sum of the products of masses of all the particles of the body and squares of their respective perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation. It is a rotational analog of the mass of a body.

It is given as

I = MR2

where M is the mass of the body and R is its rotational radius.
