Why do haloalkanes undergo nucleophilic substitution whereas haloarenes undergo electrophilic substitution?

Due to higher electronegative nature of halogen atom in the C-X bond in alkyl halides the nucleophile can attach itself to the carbon atom,while due to presence of electron rich benzene ring in haloarenes electrohile can easily attach itself to it.
