What is the difference between potential energy and Kinetic energy?

1) Potential energy is stored and available to be used later on. For example, being really high up gives you gravitational potential energy because gravity is ready to just work its magic on you. Kinetic energy is energy that is already in use, for example when you finally fall gravity makes you go faster and faster, a form of kinetic energy is speed.
2) A ball rolling has kinetic energy... when you pull back a spoon to throw food at someone, when you pull back and hold it there, it has potential energy (potential to be kinetic, that is)
