what is meant by persistence of vision?where is this property used ?& what is the range of wavelength of visible light?IS IT IMP. FOR EXAMS?

The impression of an image on the retina of the eye for some time after its withdrawl is known as persistence of vision. The impression on human eye lasts for 1/16 th of a second.
This property is used in cinematography. Successive images at the rate of 16 per second of the same scene give the impression of continuity.
