Let us first find the 5th term, that is, a5. Here n = 5, which is odd.
According to the definition of the sequence, we have:
a5 = 5/52 - 1 = 5/24
 
Now, to find the 8th term, we need to find a8. Here n = 8, which is even.
According to the definition of the sequence, we have:
a8 = 8(8+1) = 72
