the values of ksp for agcl and agbr are 2x 10 raise to -10 and 5 x 10 raise to -13 resp. which of these two is more soluble in water ?
The silver halides have a wide range of solubilities, the solubility of AgF being the maximum. AgCl is more soluble than AgBr in water. These differences are attributed to the relative solvation enthalpies of the halide ions; the enthalpy of solvation of chloride is more than that of bromide ion.
