the floor of a bathroom is 5 ft and 6ft tall has to be filled with square marble tiles of the largest possible length. find the size of the tile required in inches and the number of tiles?

The largest possible length of the tile would be 1ft x 1 ft since 2 ft tile wont fit.
1 ft = 12 inches
so size of tile = 12 ft x 12 ft.
 
Area of floor = 30 sq ft
Area of tile = 1 sq ft
hence no. of tiles required = 30
