The angular momentum is conserved in a system whose moment of inertia is decreased. Will its rotational kinetic energy be conserved?

Kinetic energy and angular momentum are related as E = L2/2I, thus decreasing the moment of inertia and keeping L constant will increase the kinetic energy of rotation of the body.
