p(x)=x3-3x2+x+1

Here, a=1, b= -3, c= 1, d=1

Sum of roots = -b/a = 3

So, a - b + a + a + b = 3

3a = 3

a = 1

Product of roots = -d/a = -1

So, (a - b)(a)(a+b) = -1

Putting the value of a, we have:

1(a- b2) = -1

1 - b2 = -1

b2 = 2
b = square root of 2
