Plz tell me what is a metalloid?

those elements whose properties lie between that of metals and non metals, the classification of any particular element as a metalloid has been described as 'arbitrary'. 

There is no fixed pattern for the properties this can be seen by taking few examples from the properties of metaloids.

 

properties

  • solid, with a metallic lustre
  • densities lower than neighbouring poor metals but higher than those of neighbouring nonmetals.
  • intermediate ionization energies (usually falling between those of metals and nonmetals)
