In an experiment 4.90gm of copper oxide as obtained from3.92gm of copper.in another experiment 4.65gmof copper oxide gave on reduction 3.64 gm of copper show the help of calculation on that these figures verify the law of constant proportions

Mass of copper oxide taken in experiment 1 = 4.90 g

Mass of copper obtained = 3.92 g

So, mass % of Cu = 3.92 x 100/ 4.90 = 80

Mass of copper oxide produced in experiment 2 = 4.65 g

Mass of copper used = 3.64 g

So, mass % of Cu = 3.64 x 100/ 4.65 = 78.279

Since the percentage of copper in the two samples of copper oxide is the almost the same, the law of definite proportion is verified.
