An image is formed on the retina. The image is inverted, real, and diminished. The ability of the eye to form an image on the curved surface of the retina is extremely important in human vision.
The  ray  entering  the  eye  is  first  refracted  in  the  cornea  and  then  in  the  eye  lens which  is  the  main  refractor.  This  forms  inverted,  real  image  on  the  retina  which  is processed  in  the  brain  and  a  final  erect  image  is seen.
when an image goes through the eyes the image that forms in the retina is upside down and the brain has to flip it back the right way.
And its a real image.
