metallic characte               increases down a group due to increase in atomic radii
decreases along a period due increase in effective nuclear charge.
opp for non metallic character.......

reactivity                        increases down the group, due to decrease in bond dissociation enthalpy.
                                     decreases along a period.
electronegativity             decreases down the group.(best metal at the bottom of the group)
increases along the period(halogens of 17 gp. most electronegative).
electropositive...              opposite of the above.
