# hi! my question is how newtons 3rd law of motion is obeyed by gravitational

Wed June 20, 2012
Newtons third law can be stated as "For every Action there is an equal and opposite Reaction"
i.e. if a body A exerts F newtons on body B then body B will also F newtons on body A

now Gravitational law is "the gravitational force of attraction between any two particles of masses M and m separated by a distance r  has the magnitude
F=(GMm)/r2
where G is the universal gravitational constant"

Clearly the statement itself says that if body A exerts a force F on B then body B will exert a force -F on A
thus newtons third law is followed
