The mirror equation is:
It is a relation between the distance of image from the pole and distance of object from the pole.
Since for a concave mirror, the focus is negative, i.e. on the left side of the mirror.
and for convex it is positive. thus difference between the 1/u vs 1/v graph can be seen as:
