when a lift  falls with an acceleration  a, the net downwrd force on a body inside will be(app weight):

f=m(g-a)

if the lift or  vehicle falls with acceleration >g,
then ,
f=-ve
so the body inside will strike the celeing  of the vehicle.as the net force on it will be against the gravity.
