The energy eigen values do not depend on the corresponding quantum numbers, but solely on the principal quantum number n. Hence, a hydrogen-like atomic orbital is uniquely identified by the values of: principal quantum number ‘n’, angular momentum quantum number ‘, and magnetic quantum number ‘m’.

The degenerate orbitals have the same value of ‘m’ i.e. magnetic quantum number which gives the orientation of the molecule ,and as the degenerate orbitals have the same orientations therefore, the magnetic quantum value remains the same in case of degenerate orbitals.
