A "U- Tube" contains water and oil separated by mercury. The mercury columns in the two arms are at the same level with 10cm of water in one arm and 12.5cm of oil in the other.What is the relative density of oil?

HERE  PRESSURE AT A= PRESSURE AT B as A  and  B  points are at trhe same level.
so, atm pr+12.5x density of oil x g= atm pr+10 x density of water x g   (as we know pressure exerted by liquid=h? g)
 
density of oil=10/12.5
                  =0.8 gm/cc
