a particle of mass 1/10^2 under the action of a force F(x)=-k/2x^2.at time t=0 the position of particle x=1.0m & velocity=0.1what is the velocity of the particle when x is at 0.50m 2.how long will it take to be in the position x==0.25

Force on the particle and its mass can be used to get acceleration.

Now acceleration is rate of change of velocity and velocity is rate of change of displacement. Hence,

Now using boundary conditions:

V=0 and x=0 at t=1, using this in the two equations derived:

Now these two equations can be used to find the answers.

1. at x=0.5m

2. at x=0.25
